Make way for maple, the new taste of fall

Prime & Provisions, a steakhouse in the Loop, usually has some kind of pumpkin dessert on its fall menu, executive chef Joseph Rizza said. The fall menu goes live Oct. 2, and Rizza said he is vying to swap out the usual pumpkin sweet for maple pecan pie.

The steakhouse has experience in the maple department. Two of its starter dishes — fried chicken and thick-cut bacon — use maple syrup. Those have been on the menu since the place opened in 2015 and have remained top-selling items, Rizza said.
